Terms of Use

These terms

These terms govern your use of the The 8M Institute website at 8minstitute.org, operated by AHS, Inc. Using the site means accepting them.

What this site is

A marketing and publishing site. It describes a method, an assessment, and a book. It is not the assessment product, it holds no client data, and nothing on it creates an engagement.

What the content is, and is not

The material here is general. It is not operational, clinical, legal, financial, or regulatory advice, and it is not a substitute for the judgment of someone who knows your situation. Nothing here should be relied on as the sole basis for a decision about how your organization operates.

The two research reports summarized on this site describe coding passes over published material. Each states its own limits on its page, and those limits are part of the claim rather than a disclaimer attached to it.

The guarantee

The guarantee page describes a commitment that is given in a signed agreement. The page is a plain statement of it, not the agreement itself. Where the two differ, the signed agreement governs.

The book

Stop the Line is provided free for your own reading. It remains the copyright of its author. You may quote briefly from it with attribution. You may not redistribute it, host it elsewhere, or sell it. Download links are issued to one person and expire.

Intellectual property

The text, design, and marks on this site belong to AHS, Inc. unless stated otherwise. The academic sources cited on this site belong to their own authors and publishers, and are cited rather than reproduced.

Acceptable use

Do not attempt to interfere with the site, submit false information through its forms, use it to send unsolicited mail, or extract its content by automated means at a rate that affects other people.

Links out

This site links to other sites, including the scheduling tool and the parent company’s sites. We are not responsible for what those sites do or say.

Availability

The site is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be available without interruption, and we may change or withdraw any part of it.

Limitation of liability

This website and its contents are provided for information. Nothing on it is an offer, a contract, or professional advice, and nothing on it creates a client relationship. The methods described here are described as we practice them and are not a warranty of any result.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, AHS, Inc. and its officers, employees, and contractors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profit, revenue, data, or business, arising from your use of this website or your reliance on anything published on it, whether the claim is brought in contract, tort, or otherwise, and whether or not we were advised that such damages were possible.

Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, our total liability arising from this website is limited to one dollar.

Any engagement is governed by the signed agreement for that engagement. Where this notice and a signed agreement differ, the agreement controls.

Governing law

These terms and any dispute arising from this website or its contents are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, without regard to its conflict of laws rules.

The state courts of Routt County, Colorado and the United States District Court for the District of Colorado have exclusive jurisdiction, and you consent to venue there.
